Dasavathar Kurma

This is a kurma which contains 10 ingredients for it gravy. So, I named it Dasavathar Kurma. Ok, let's see the ingredients -   Samagri 1: (C 5 F 2 G 2 K) - To make paste   Coconut - 1/2 of one medium coconut Fried Gram Dal - 1/4 cup   Khus -khus - 1 tbsp Ginger- 1/2 inch piece Garlic - 5 pods Cinnamon Bark - 1 inch piece   Cloves - 3   Cardamom - 2   Fennel Seeds - 1tsp Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp      You might wonder what is this chemical name C 5 F 2 G 2 K.  Just remember all the ingredients for the gravy with this simple code of the starting letters of the ingredients. Samagri 2 : Onion - 1 large Tomato - 2 medium   Curry leaves - few   Mixed vegetables - 1 cup   Chopped Potato - 1/2 cup Mixed vegetables can include Carrot, Beans,Peas,Cauliflower, Lima beans. Badam Burfi

This is a very simple and easy to make sweet for Diwali. Only thing it needs is your full concentration and dedication. Let's see how to prepare it.   Ingredients :  Badam (Almonds) - 1 cup Sugar - 1 cup Water - 1/4 cup Cardamom - 2,  Ghee-1tbsp Method of Preparation: 1. Soak the almonds in hot water for 1 hour. 2. Then , remove the skin and place them on a paper towel or a kitchen towel for 15 minutes. 3. Now, grind it into a powder. 4. In a non-stick pan, pour the water and add sugar and stir in medium heat.   5. The sugar should dissolve and after few minutes, bubbles will form.   6. When the syrup is foamy, add the ground almonds and the crushed cardamom and mix well. 7. To avoid any lumps, keep stirring.   8. When the mix doesn't stick to the pan, pour 1 tbsp ghee and transfer it to a  plate greased with ghee        or a plate with aluminium foil on it. 9. Omappodi

Omappodi is another Diwali Snack. It is similar to Karachevu. The only difference is , for omappodi, add a pinch of chilli powder instead of 1 tsp of pepper powder. You can use different moulds to make different shapes.

Karachevu ( காராச்சேவு )

HAPPY DIWALI TO ALL THE VIEWERS Diwali is nearing. Let 's see some snacks and sweets for Diwali. The first snack is Karachevu ( காராச்சேவு ). Ingredients : Besan (kadalai maavu) - 1 cup Rice Flour - 1cup Salt - 1 tsp Water - little less than 3/4th of a cup Pepper Powder - 1 tbsp Hot oil / unsalted butter- 2 tbsp   Let see how to prepare :   1. First sift the flours and mix all the dry ingredients . 2. Now add the hot oil or the melted butter and mix thoroughly using a whisk. And then add the water little by little and make a dough.  3. Make sure the consistency of the dough is perfect . Otherwise the dough won't pass through the  mould / presser. 4. Now, heat the oil in a deep frying pan , pass the dough thru the presser, fry them in oil until it is gold in colour and the frying sound fades away. 5.
