Soft Mysore Pak

  Hi all, Today, I am going to share my recipe for a soft and silky smooth Mysore Pak.  Ingredients needed: Gram Flour / Kadalai Maavu / Besan - 1/2 cup (sifted) Sugar - 1 cup Whole Milk - 1/2 cup Oil - 1/2 cup ( I used Canola oil, but you can use any oil, which doesn't have a strong flavor or aroma by itself. For example, do not use Sesame Oil, Coconut oil, Mustards Oil, Groundnut Oil, etc) Clarified Butter / Nei / Ghee - 1/4 cup ( it should not be melted, it should be at room temperature. If it is in a liquid state, keep in the refridgerator for 15 mintues  and whisk it a little before using in the recipe.) Please follow the steps exactly to obtain best results. Use a thick bottomed and wide mouth pan. In the pan, add the following ingredients one by one. Please note!! I have not asked you to switch on the stove yet! Kambu Pak / Kambu Burfi

 Kambu Burfi Hello everyone!, As I had mentioned in my previous post, I am here today to share my recipe for one more new sweet dish " Kambu Pak / Burfi". Somehow, I have a liking towards the Kambu Flour / Pearl Millet flour / Bajri Flour. this may also be because I won the 4th place in a cooking competition for my entry 'Kambu Halwa" You may wonder what is Kambu Pak. when they call the sweet made with Besan as Mysore Pak, then why not call the sweet made with Kambu Flour, as  Kambu Pak" 😉 Lets see how to make this yummy Kambu Pak Ingredients needed (makes about a dozen 1/2 inch thick squares) Pearl millet / Kambu / Bajra Flour - 1/2 cup Light Brown Sugar / Naattu Sarkarai - 1 cup Whole Milk - 1/2 cup Cardamom Powder - 1/4 tsp Warm ghee - 1/4 cup Any Cooking oil - 1/4 cup ( I used canola oil, but you can use any oil other oil except sesame oil, or peanut oil or olive oil. Oats Murukku / Chakli

Oats Murukku..... Hi all, Advance Diwali wishes !! Diwali is here for 2020 and let's celebrate with a special sweet and savoury dish. I am going to share my recipe for Oats Murukku in this post and Kambu Burfi in my next post. without further ado, lets get in to the recipe. Ingredients needed ( makes 13 , 3 spiral murukkus) Oats flour - 1/2 cup Urad Flour / Black Lentil Flour - 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter - 1 tbsp softened at room temperature Carom Seeds - 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder - 1/4 tsp Salt - 1/2 tsp Asafoetida powder / Hing - 1/8 tsp Water - 1/2 cup + little more to adjust the consistency of the dough I used homemade Oats Flour. Here is how to make it- I used rolled oats. Dry fry it in a pan until some of them start popping up and you smell the aroma of Oats . Cool it down and grind to a fine powder and sift the flour before using.  In general, while you are using any flour in any recipe, always remember to sift it to avoid any lumps or un-ground pieces.
