COCONUT MILK PORRIDGE
 
Coconut Milk Porridge is a dish of Medicinal Value. There a very few ingredients for this dish. They contain medicinal qualities. The ingredients are: 

  Coconut - one 1/2 of a coconut
 

Raw rice/ Boiled Rice - 1/2 cup
Fenugreek Seeds - 1tbsp

 

 Garlic Cloves - 10 small (or) 6-7 large


Procedure to prepare porridge

1. In a mixie, add the rice and the fenugreek seeds and grind for 1/2 a sec. the rice will broken , but not powdered.
2. In a pressure cooker or an electric rice cooker, add all other ingredients except coconut. 
3. Add 3 cups of water and cook. 
4. Take 1 cup of thick coconut milk from the coconut pieces. Alternatively, you can also use tinned coconut milk, available in the market. But, I strongly recommend only homemade . 
5. Once the rice is cooked, and is hot, add the coconut milk and stir well. Add salt to taste.












6. This porridge will be in a drinking consistency. 

** Remember not to boil the porridge after adding the coconut milk. This is one of my mom's home remedy for mouth and stomach ulcers and also to reduce body heat. 

Medicinal Value:
Fenugreek seeds are rich in protein, vitamin A & C, iron, calcium, and minerals.
