This is a dosai made of 4 main ingredients, toor dal (red gram ) , Channa Dal (bengal gram ), boiled rice and raw rice. This is served for breakfast or dinner. Let us see how to prepare this
Ingredients 1 :
Bengal gram (kadalai paruppu) - 1/2 cup
Red gram (thuvaram paruppu) - 1/2 cup
Boiled rice/idli rice - 1/2 cup
Sonamasoori rice - 1/2 cup
Black gram (uluththam paruppu) - 1/8 cup
Red Chillies - 5 to 8 or as per your taste
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
Ingredients 2 :
Ginger - 1/4 inch piece
Curry Leaves - few leaves
Corinader leaves - chopped 3 tbsp (optional)
Onion - 2 medium size
Asafoetida / Hing - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - 1 tbsp
Procedure :
1. Soak all the items in group 1 ingredients for 2 hours
3. Heat oil in a skillet and add the mustard seeds. After it crackles, add the chopped curry leaves, chopped onion and saute till the onion turns transparent.
4. Now, add the sauted onion mix into the ground batter.
5. Add chopped coriander leaves to the batter.
6. Heat a tawa and pour one laddle full of batter and spread it.
7. Pour 1 tsp oil and cook it on both sides.
Note:
If you like, you can add fenugreek leaves or moringa leaves to the batter before making dosai.
