also prepare Rasam Vada with this rasam.
You will need,
Tomato - 1 medium,
Garlic - 3 flakes
Tamarind Paste - 3 tbsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Rasam Powder - 1 tbsp (click this for rasam powder recipe)
Water - 2 cups
Salt as per taste
Coriander leaves chopped - 2 tbsp
For Seasoning :
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Dry Red chillies - 1 or 2 as per your taste
Pepper corn (black)- 4 to 5
Asafoetida (hing) - 2 pinches
Curry Leaves - few
How to prepare:
1. In a pot, heat 1 tbsp oil , and put all the ingredients for seasoning.
2. Always, keep the flame in medium heat.
3. Add crushed garlic and saute.
4. Now add the chopped tomatoes and saute well.
5. Add the tamarind paste and the water to the pot.
6. Remember, the rasam should not boil, ie, bubbles will form in the edges of the pot.
7. Now, add salt, rasam powder and coriander leaves and then switch off the stove.
