Kaara Kozhukattai (Soft and spicy rice flour steamed dumplings)

Hello viewers, Today I am going to share the recipe for kaara kozhukattai which is prepared as a special offering for Lord Ganesha. I have named it spicy but it is not very spicy though! Ingredients: This recipe makes about 21 lemon - sized kozhukkattai Rice Flour - 1/2 cup ( I used store bought) Water - 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cups(warm) Green chillies - 2 small (de-seeded and finely chopped)(you can add less if you wish) Ginger - 1 tsp (peeled and grated) Coconut - 1 tbsp grated Cumin seeds- 1 tsp Salt - 1/2 tsp or as per taste Sesame oil or Ghee - 1 tbsp Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp Curry leaves - few sprigs First, heat a wok and heat the oil . Then add the mustard seeds , cumin seeds and curry leaves . Then add the green chillies and ginger and saute. Add the salt now itself , so that it mixes well.
